Clients come to us in several forms, but they all share one thing: they're looking for great guitars and want a simple, convenient experience. Some are looking for a very specific guitar, be it an old vintage masterpiece, a more recent model that isn't available at local stores, or a select new instrument. Some want to upgrade, but don't know exactly what they want and can't find local stores to touch, play, and feel various models and brands. Others still are collectors, whether they also play or not, and are looking for help building their bespoke inventory. Our clients span from working musicians on a tight budget to individuals building out an investment asset class.
New clients contact us online using the form below, while existing or referred clients call, email, or text us directly. We work with them to discover their needs and wants, discuss options, and get to work. We pull guitars from our inventory and/or procure instruments from the public and private markets that we believe are a fit. We meet with our clients at their home or office so they can put their hands on the instruments and take some time to play them in a relaxed, no-pressure environment.
We do not charge any upfront fees or take deposits. Most of our clients purchase one or more guitars from us during our meeting, but not always, and that’s okay. We leave with a better mutual understanding of what they want and get back to work sourcing more instruments for another meetup. It is exceedingly rare we part ways without finding a guitar that fits and it’s usually for a great reason- the client realized they love what they already have more than what they thought they wanted. Even when we do, the client is still apt to refer us to their friends and family for the service we provide.
Brokerage transactions are a bit different. These entail very specific requests that typically involve large values and there may only be one or several currently available in the public and private markets worldwide. We work with the client to facilitate the transaction in the smoothest fashion possible for them.
We stock and procure select new, used, and vintage guitars and amps starting around the $2000 price range and up to whatever our clients' budgets dictate. We deal with mid to upper tier American and foreign production, boutique-production, and boutique instruments. We do not stock or procure American branded guitars produced in other countries or common instruments that can be found at most guitar stores.
We procure and thoroughly go over every guitar, including a full professional setup from tuners to bridge for used instruments, unless it’s a guitar where a full setup would damage value (think very vintage). We then sell our guitars to our clients at market rates. That’s it. We don’t charge a fee or a premium. However, we will likely be higher than the lowest price you find online. That’s because we put time and effort into finding quality instruments, cleaning them, repairing if necessary, and setting them up so they are ready to go- a service that would typically cost a couple hundred dollars or more. Because some of our clients ask for specific guitars, we sometimes also procure them for more than we would otherwise pay on the general market just so they get the guitar they want.
We price our guitars fairly from the get go, so we don't have to negotiate, accounting for the work and setup we’ve put into them, market rates, condition, and demand. It’s important to us that our clients know they are being treated fairly and that we are working in their best interest to get the best instruments for them at the fairest price we can. In today’s world, it’s easy for buyers to check prices online and see we are priced fairly, so we start at the best price we can and remove the hassle of haggling for our clients.
We are located in Fredericksburg, Va. Generally, our clients are in the corridor from Richmond to Northern Virginia. We are creating a facility for clients to come to and have a private experience, but in the meantime, we bring our service to our clients' homes and offices. We do travel nearly nationwide to procure guitars, broker transactions, and make deliveries. We are in business to place great guitars with our clients, but have to take the expense of travel into account. Therefore, our ability to travel greater distances is limited by the selection of guitars being considered.
